Sale is over now, thanks everyone for purchasing through me! Enjoy your resources.
The first expansion pack of Ancient Dungeons has been in the works, a jungle themed dungeon this time. Of course I always like having input from the actual users on what they like to see.
So when you’re building a dungeon, what are the two things that are most important to you? Keep in mind this well be a jungle flavoured theme, so think of this:
Hey there! Sometimes my website doesn’t seem to be accessible when directly linking it to http://pixanna.nl. But linking to a different section on the website does work, hence why I’ll be linking to this blogpost instead.
My first free to use non-commercially MV resources: nature tiles! Since MV now has 3 layers, you don’t need to put the dirt path into a TileA5.
Trees are coming sometime. I’ve already created some MV trees as you can see from this screenshot, but I don’t know when Degica will decide to release them.
Because of the many questions I get about this:
I am not converting my old resources to MV. They will stay as-is. If I’m going to spend time on resources, I’ll be creating new resources, not spend it on converting older ones.
So sorry folks, but I’m not converting my resources to MV. I will however, create resources in the future that are compatible with MV in 48×48 size.
I’m still working on the modern buildings, the next tileset for Fantastic Buildings. Here’s a preview of some of the buildings I have:
While I have some old style buildings that are good for down town areas, I’ve decided I’ll go for a more modern look since that’s what people will be looking for when they purchase this tileset.
I’m also going to be working on my website a bit, and add an option to purchase my parallax tiles individually.
Welcome new users of RPG Maker MV, and welcome back to regulars who bought RPG Maker MV to expand upon their library.
A clarification on the use of my free resources:
Much like before, my resources could only be used with RPG Maker VX. That means if you wanted to use my resources in another maker, you’d have to own RPG Maker VX as well. I struck a deal with Enterbrain, which allowed me to let other users who only owned RPG Maker VX Ace to still be able to use them, without owning RPG Maker VX.
However, this deal does not exist for RPG Maker MV, the newest maker. That means – if you want to use my free resources in MV – that you must own either a copy of RPG Maker VX or RPG Maker VX Ace.
Most of my free resources aren’t available for those that only own RPG Maker MV.
There are exceptions of course, my newest resources are available for any engine, but my older resources, such as Celianna’s Tileset, is for RPG Maker VX or RPG Maker VX Ace only. You can use Celianna’s Tileset in RPG Maker MV (or any other Maker, really), as long as you own any of the two previous mentioned makers. That’s all there is to it.
I just want to post this as a shout out to Hudell’s Fantasy Farming: Orange Season game.
Rural Farm Tiles is not a popular pack, it barely gets any sales, even though I spent a year long working on everything, from sprites, to icons to the whole tileset in 4 different seasons. It was a lot of hard work, but I did it, because I knew someone, somewhere, wanted to make a Harvest Moon like game. If only one such person wanted to make such a game, I would do it for them. Hudell ended up being that person, he’s gone above and beyond to turn this into a wonderful game to satisfy us Harvest Moon hungry fans.
I may not be rolling around in dough, but at least someone is making full use of the resources that I’ve created, and I’m excited to see them succeed with their game. That one year is worth it just for this!
He has since entered his game through Steam’s Greenlight program. I urge you all to vote a resounding YES on his game! Link here.
I sometimes stream my tilemaking, and lots of people find it useful to see my work progress.
So today I’m giving you a head’s up. At 1:00 AM (August 18) GMT+1, or 11:00 PM UTC (August 17), I will be livestreaming the making of a giant tree and explaining everything as I go and answering questions. So if you’re interested in how to draw trees, or just watch me draw a tree, feel free to join in!
The link to the livestream is here:
I will also update this status when I begin to stream:
Streaming has ended
Thanks to everyone who watched the stream with me, and I apologize for not being able to finish the tree! The tree was just too damn large, and I was getting throbbing sensations in my wrist from clicking too much (dem leaves …), so I’ll finish the tree on my own time. But the stream should teach you how to create one all the way.
Taking a break from Ancient Dungeons, and working on a new resource pack:
It’s the next installment from the Fantastic Buildings set; Modern!
I remember a lot of nay-sayers when Fantastic Buildings: Medieval was announced. There were people who complained that it didn’t offer them enough freedom, as they wanted to make their own buildings. But you know what? I’m not catering to them – I’m catering to the people who just want to plop down a pretty house and focus on their story and developing characters or making cool battles. Not everyone is gifted in the art department, not everyone can make really cool buildings with a complete autotile set. So that’s why Fantastic Buildings is a thing, to give people the option to have awesome buildings without having to lift a finger for it.
And to the nay-sayers; it’s actually quite popular 😉
