Sci-fi fantasy tiles

Sci-fi fantasy is such a broad ‘genre’, that it’s hard to know what exactly I should be drawing. I know the art style, and I know it will be for RPG Maker MV, but what do people expect when they hear sci-fi fantasy?

So that’s where this poll will come in, please let me know the kind of tiles you’re expecting when you purchase a sci-fi fantasy pack!

Fantastic Buildings: Modern – early access!

buy
Early access version!

Because I’m taking forever to complete the Modern themed pack of my Fantastic Buildings collection, I’ve decided to do you all a favour, and let you have access to what is already finished. So you can buy it now, and later on you’ll be e-mailed a link for the updated, and complete, pack. You will not be charged extra for getting the completed pack, the price will stay the same regardless. When will I have the pack completed? I honestly can’t say, but hopefully within a month or two.

Either way, let’s get on with it!

Pack description:

Fantastic Buildings: Modern contains a collection of modern themed buildings for you to use in your project. These are ready to be used exterior buildings, optimized for RPG Maker VX and RPG Maker VX Ace, but can be used in any game engine.

NOTE: this is an early access version. It is not yet completed. Once you purchase the early access version, you do NOT have to pay again to get the complete pack. You will be e-mailed a download link for the updated, and completed, pack once it is finished.

What’s included in the early access (29 buildings in total):

– A bonus TileA2 and TileA5 to create modern roads and sidewalks
– Modern apartment buildings
– ‘Old’ apartment buildings
– Several stores/restaurants
– Garage/gas station/warehouse/fire department
– Hotel/hospital/school/cinema
– Couple of skyscrapers

What the early access version does NOT contain:

– Residential houses

These buildings are best used with the parallax mapping method.

MV Nature tiles

My first free to use non-commercially MV resources: nature tiles! Since MV now has 3 layers, you don’t need to put the dirt path into a TileA5.

Trees are coming sometime. I’ve already created some MV trees as you can see from this screenshot, but I don’t know when Degica will decide to release them.

Just a little more

I’m still working on the modern buildings, the next tileset for Fantastic Buildings. Here’s a preview of some of the buildings I have:

sample3

While I have some old style buildings that are good for down town areas, I’ve decided I’ll go for a more modern look since that’s what people will be looking for when they purchase this tileset.

I’m also going to be working on my website a bit, and add an option to purchase my parallax tiles individually.

RPG Maker MV

Welcome new users of RPG Maker MV, and welcome back to regulars who bought RPG Maker MV to expand upon their library.

A clarification on the use of my free resources:

Much like before, my resources could only be used with RPG Maker VX. That means if you wanted to use my resources in another maker, you’d have to own RPG Maker VX as well. I struck a deal with Enterbrain, which allowed me to let other users who only owned RPG Maker VX Ace to still be able to use them, without owning RPG Maker VX.

However, this deal does not exist for RPG Maker MV, the newest maker. That means – if you want to use my free resources in MV – that you must own either a copy of RPG Maker VX or RPG Maker VX Ace.

Most of my free resources aren’t available for those that only own RPG Maker MV.

There are exceptions of course, my newest resources are available for any engine, but my older resources, such as Celianna’s Tileset, is for RPG Maker VX or RPG Maker VX Ace only. You can use Celianna’s Tileset in RPG Maker MV (or any other Maker, really), as long as you own any of the two previous mentioned makers. That’s all there is to it.

You can find my RPG Maker MV tilesets here.

It’s a new modern era!

Taking a break from Ancient Dungeons, and working on a new resource pack:

It’s the next installment from the Fantastic Buildings set; Modern!

I remember a lot of nay-sayers when Fantastic Buildings: Medieval was announced. There were people who complained that it didn’t offer them enough freedom, as they wanted to make their own buildings. But you know what? I’m not catering to them – I’m catering to the people who just want to plop down a pretty house and focus on their story and developing characters or making cool battles. Not everyone is gifted in the art department, not everyone can make really cool buildings with a complete autotile set. So that’s why Fantastic Buildings is a thing, to give people the option to have awesome buildings without having to lift a finger for it.

And to the nay-sayers; it’s actually quite popular 😉

Sale over!

The IGMC sale for Celianna’s Tileset and Celianna’s Parallax Tiles is now over. Thank you all to those who purchased, I wish you good luck.

So what am I currently working on? I am taking a bit of a break from Ancient Dungeons, and working on the next Fantastic Buildings entry; Modern! That’s right, modern buildings for you. That means cozy homes and skyscrapers. No ETA yet, but hopefully by next month I can show off a lot of progress. It will also include a few autotiles for streets and grass.

Random note: did you know the streets and sidewalks in Modern Day Tiles were made by me? That’s why they’re based on Dutch sidewalks 😉

Science!

On April 1st, I announced I was working on some sci-fi tiles. To some who may know me, I loathe sci-fi tiles, I really don’t like drawing them. So everyone of course, assumed I was joking.

I wasn’t.

Enjoy.

Terms are the same as my other parallax tiles.
